We all have done it before. walked right into a Home Depot, Lowes, or any other large box store…. walk right up to a teenager & asked ” will this work with this?” or “what is a better brand?”

Now don’t get me wrong. I think it’s great that young people are getting jobs, it’s just… I don’t really feel comfortable asking about ceiling fan brands, color temperatures of fluorescent or LED lamps, or what type of recessed can will create the lighting effect I am looking for.

I enjoy specialty stores. You pretty much know right away if someone has the confidence you’re looking for & if they really know what they are doing.

At Turney Lighting & Electric, we are lighting people. We cannot tell you the BTU of a Coleman grill or the best wood flooring that is in stock at this time.

What we can do:

  • Lighting matters! We don’t just worry about the “in stock special” A good lighting professional takes time to understand what it is that you are wanting & what you need. It’s not just about a light that looks good. It’s all about making the light look good!
  • Turney Lighting Pros start with the lamp “the bulb” to make sure you have the right amount, color and quality of light from any chandelier, pendant, sconce or architectural lighting unit we recommend.
  • Size! In many cases, our clients want to put a very large, very beautiful chandelier in their Dining Room. That’s ok if you have taller ceilings & a large space. Please let someone help you determine the right size of light for a space. Bigger doesn’t always mean Better.
  • Décor is important. If you tell us that you have really clean lines everywhere & you don’t like a lot of clutter, we probably will not recommend a Victorian Styled Chandelier. There are Thousands of chandeliers that are beautiful, but you should get the light that works well for you and one that looks good with the rest of your house.
  • Install? Most reputable lighting companies have installers or are electrical contractors themselves. We do that too.

Be careful out there! And remember!

Just because I wear an orange vest…. doesn’t mean I can help you!
